deploying overseas.
Mrs. Queshundra Crawford faced that challenge recently when her husband, Georgia Army
National Guardsman, Staff Sgt. Dairi Smith, was completing pre-deployment training in Fort Stewart for
distance across Georgia with their three young boys to meet her husband to celebrate Christmas together
before he travelled overseas.
The family was searching for someone to look at their Nissan Quest’s power steering as soon as practicable.
Dellasala, president of the General Motors Veterans Group, Roswell Chapter, about helping the family. The
Hennessy Buick GMC of Morrow, Georgia was the closest GM dealership to the Smith/Crawford residence.
The support agencies coordinated with the manager to look at the family’s vehicle and offer discounted
services to get the vehicle running again.
Ricky Williams, General Sales Manager of Hennessy Buick GMC, advised he would help and asked Mrs.
Crawford to bring her van in as soon as she could. Williams loaned a vehicle Mrs. Crawford to pick up her
husband while their Nissan received services.
When the family returned to the dealership on Christmas Eve to pick up their vehicle, Mrs. Crawford was
surprised by the makeover her car had received, courtesy of the Hennessy Buick GMC workers who had
donated their time and effort to help Smith/Crawford family.
