FLORIDA FRIENDLY LANDSCAPING
This is a great class for longtime residents and new residents
alike. Learn how to create a beautiful and eco-friendly yard,
be efficient with your use of mulch and water, and get help
choosing the right plant for the right place. This class is free,

FISHING IN A WATERFRONT WONDERLAND

Cape Coral canals are home to many species of fishes,
both native and exotic. Learn about what you can catch in
the canals, discuss responsible angling practices, which
parks are good for fishing and launching your boat.

A fascinating program for anyone who is interested in
wildlife in Florida. Learn about what amphibians call
southwest Florida home and learn the differences between
frogs and toads. There will be live specimens to see.

KARATE FOR SELF-DEFENSE
(18+ yrs)
Taught by Hilmar Fuchs. All techniques are taught in a fun, safe
atmosphere. Participants do not need to be in top physical
condition, but a martial arts background is required.

YOGA ESSENTIALS (18+ yrs)
Start with some basic energy balancing techniques, add in
breath-work and a combination of standing and floor poses to
work on increasing strength, flexibility, and balance. Class ends
with meditation to quiet the mind and allows class to cover
yoga essentials that will help to improve your health and sense
of well-being. Please bring a yoga mat, block, strap, towel and
water. No class 5/27 or 7/4.

Cape Coral Friends of Wildlife Meetings
Do you love wildlife? Curious about the city’s official
bird, the Burrowing Owl? If you want to do something to
actually help, come to one of these public meetings to
find out how. Meetings are held from 7:00-9:00pm the
second Tuesday of the month at Rotary Park.

DOG OBEDIENCE TRAINING (16+ yrs)
Classes are held in the employee parking lot at Cape Coral City
Hall. Register in advance through parks & recreation or register
the first night of class beginning at 7:00pm. Proof of up-todate
vaccination records are required on the first night of class.
Taught by the Dog Obedience Club of Lee County, there is a
class for puppies 3 to 5 months old; a beginner’s training class
for dogs 6 months and older; and a Canine Good Citizen class
for graduates of the beginner’s class.
