BERKSHIRE BOTANICAL GARDEN
Encompassing 15 acres of cultivated land, the garden’s mission is to
fulfill the community’s need for information, education, and inspiration
concerning the art and science of gardening and the preservation
of our environment. Public display gardens are open May to mid-
October. Both functional and ornamental, they are among the oldest
in the US and have been expanded over the years in breadth and
variety. The collections emphasize plants that are indigenous to or
thrive in the Berkshires. Classes, workshops, lectures, and special
events are offered year-round.

MONUMENT MOUNTAIN
Fairly strenuous climb to summit for panoramic views of the
Housatonic River Valley. Three-mile loop trail. Popular hiking spot
for famed authors William Cullen Bryant, Nathaniel Hawthorne,
and Herman Melville. Not recommended for small children or pets.
