2019
Excellence
is part of our mission here!
- Chester C. Weber
Fabulous weather welcomed another outstanding year for Live Oak International. Fifty Six combined
drivers and twenty five jumpers from twenty countries competed for over $200,000 in prize money.
The heart of the combined driving competition is the marathon, held Saturday, with 8,000 spectators
in attendance.
Chester is quick to credit his sister, Juliet Reid, with their success, “One thing I’m always grateful for is
my sister. It’s a great partnership. With Juliet’s efforts, we broke our sponsorship records this year.”
Veteran Steve Wilson, who won the FEI Horse Pair Cones was “thrilled with turf in dressage and cone
arena. Loved the green grass!” Misdee Wrigley-Miller echoed his assessment of the arena- “It’s 2nd to
none in the world. The obstacles were great- they were flagged very well.” Misdee won silver (2nd place)
for 4-in-hand USEF Combined Driving.
The $100,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ Live Oak, held on Sunday, was won by 17 year old
Brian Moggre. His trainer, Tracy Fenney won the $35,700 Longines World Ranking Competition on
Saturday. Speaking about the event, she said “Top notch, job well done! It’s hard to see both sides of
it, and you (Chester) do a great job.” Pleased with the outcome, Chester said “At Live Oak, it’s always
about horses and horsemanship. We had great sport today.”
