Orlando Gives Back

received a $50,000 donation from a private
family foundation.

New Baby
2. On July 3, a female Pacific walrus was born at
SeaWorld Orlando, weighing in at a whopping
150 pounds. Baby Kora can be seen splashing
around with her mom Kaboodle and her dad
Garfield at Wild Arctic.
Sports Stars Visit
Local Hospital
3. On July 15, the players and the head coach for the
Orlando Storm, a World TeamTennis expansion
franchise, made room visits and participated in a
tennis demo at Nemours Children’s Hospital. The
hospital is the official medical services provider of
the USTA National Campus.

2020 Miss America’s
Outstanding Teen Competition
Last month, the 2020 Miss America’s Outstanding Teen
Competition was held at theOrange County Convention
Center. Finalists won tens of thousands of dollars worth of
scholarships provided by The Harris Rosen Foundation and the
Orlando Scholarship Organization, Inc.

Outstanding Teen, Taylor Parsons; Miss Arizona’s
Outstanding Teen, Katelyn Cai; Payton May, 2020 Miss
America’s Outstanding Teen; Miss Kentucky’s Outstanding
Teen, Landry Feldmeier; and Miss Missouri’s Outstanding
Teen, Shae Smith.

Miss America’s Outstanding Teen by outgoing MAOTeen
London Hibbs.

6. Johnny Brummit, a Second Harvest Food Bank Culinary
Training Program graduate and lead breakfast cook at Aloft
Hotel in downtown Orlando, spoke at the White House in
July during an event celebrating the one-year anniversary of
the president’s Pledge to America’s Workers.
