hab show. I told my buddy, Eric Warren with Eric
Warren Artistry, about my discussions with Rawlings
and he expressed interest in painting my car
in Petty style then having his friend Dave Ankin
with Toymakerz do some mechanical work.
I called Dave, a super-cool car dork as well,
and he was all-in on the project. You see, his
shop is close to Petty Enterprises and the Petty
museum and Dave had always wanted to work
with the Petty’s so this whole thing was starting
to come full circle and it looked like everyone was
going to win. That was, except for one thing. I
REALLY wanted to meet Richard Petty and I knew
dad had always wanted to as well so Dave got
with the Petty folks and told them our story. They
agreed to do the unveil at the Richard Petty museum
and, to our surprise, Mr Petty showed up
to hand me the keys! According to him, “this car
makes my stuff look like junk” which I thought
was a bit of an exaggeration BUT my Petty Charger
(I still can’t believe I am able to say “my Petty

The motor is still a 440 although it now has a
4-barrel as the 6-pack is a BEAR to tune and even
harder to KEEP tuned. Yes, it has the “426” sticker
on it but that was Mr Petty’s idea to keep with
the theme. Mr Petty said
he has a few old Hemi
426s lying around so
maybe someday………
And that’s how I got a
Petty tribute Charger
