Andrew Bisantz
(Conductor)
As the music director at
Eugene Opera, Andrew Bisantz
shepherded the company
to recognition as one of the
most noted and important
performing arts organizations
in the Paci c Northwest. He served as assistant
conductor with Glimmerglass Opera and as
associate conductor with Florida Grand Opera
as well as in acclaimed engagements conducting
Boston Lyric Opera, Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto
(Portugal), Wolf Trap Opera, Boston Landmark
Orchestra, Janiec Opera Company and the Buffalo
Philharmonic. A graduate of Cleveland Institute of
Music, Bisantz studied with legendary conductors
such as Carl Topilow, Louis Lane and the current
music director of New York Philharmonic
Orchestra, Alan Gilbert. He debuted as conductor
with Opera Tampa in its 2018 production of
Macbeth.
Luis Gonzalez
(Assistant Conductor)
Luis Gonzalez returns to Opera Tampa for the
company’s highly anticipated 25th anniversary
season. He marks the occasion as Assistant
Conductor for this season’s productions of Carmen
(Jorge Parodi, cond.) and Aida (Andrew Bisantz,
cond.) and created supertitle translations for both
operas. Previous engagements include Assistant
Conductor for The Pearl Fishers, La Bohème
and the world premiere of Anton Coppola’s Lady
Swanwhite. Additional credits include Assistant
Conductor and Chorus Master for Savannah VOICE
Festival (Dialogues of the Carmelites, The Little
Prince, Pagliacci and Birthday Clown).
David Lefkowich
(Stage Director)
David Lefkowich is an accomplished stage director,
choreographer and ght director and has enjoyed
success with different companies including the
Metropolitan Opera, Teatre alla Scala, Gran
Teatre Liceu in Barcelona, Spain, La Monnaie in
Brussels, Belgium, San Francisco Opera, Florida
Grand Opera, Boston Lyric Opera, Opera Colorado,
New York City Opera, Minnesota Opera and
Glimmerglass Opera. Recent highlights include a
fully immersive production of I Pagliacci at Boston
Lyric Opera, Handel’s Acis and Galatea with Out
of the Box Opera, Don Giovanni at L’Opera de
Montreal and West Side Story with the Grand
Tetons Music Festival. David is a guest artist and
director and performs master classes at several
Young Artist programs and universities. A graduate
of Northwestern University with a Bachelor of
Science in Theatre, David has a certi cate from
École Jacques-Lecoq in Paris, France. David also
serves as the Artistic Director of Out of the Box
Opera in Minneapolis, Minn.
Robin Stamper
(Chorus Master)
The artistic/managing director and chorus master
for Opera Tampa, Robin Stamper continues a
versatile career as a coach-accompanist, chorus
master and opera conductor. A graduate of the
Juilliard School in piano performance, Stamper
served as director of music for Kentucky Opera,
artistic director for Nevada Opera, music director
for Orlando Opera and artistic director for Florida
Opera Theatre. He joined the Opera Tampa family
in 2015. He debuted as conductor for Opera
Tampa with this season’s The Pirates of Penzance.
Mike Riggs
(Lighting Designer)
Mike Riggs returns to Opera Tampa for the rst
time since Aida in 2012. Also at The Straz:
Cavalleria Rusticana, Il Pagliacci, La Traviata,
The Nutcracker and The Merry Widow. Other
recent work: Balls (off-Broadway, Houston),
Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally (off-
Broadway, Edinburgh), Blood Play (off-Broadway,
Williamstown), and She Loves Me on Broadway as
associate lighting designer. Mike and his wife Gina
recently relocated to Boone, N.C., where Mike’s
recent credits include Young Frankenstein, The
Redeemer and Eurydice.
