There are over a dozen blood types in dogs, but
about 40% to 45% have a universal
type. Breeds more likely to be universal
donors include Greyhounds, Boxers,
Irish Wolfhounds, German Shepherds,
Dobermans, and Pit Bulls.Human blood is grouped
into eight types and about 6% have a universal
type. There are three blood types in cats, A, B,
and AB. 95-99% have type A.
What Is Laparoscopic Surgery?
This type of surgery is performed by
inserting a thin tube with a camera and
light on it into the abdomen through a
small incision. This essentially acts as
the doctor’s eye, as it provides a closeup
view of a pet’s internal organs.
In its earliest inception, this tool was
mostly used as a diagnostic tool to
obtain tissue samples and examine
internal organs. It has since developed
into a surgical tool to allow for a range
of surgical procedures, including biopsies,
mass removals, ovariectomy,
and more. This tool can also be used
in laser surgery procedures.
type of procedures, such as:
Reduced blood loss
Shortened anesthesia time
Smaller incisions
Less pain & discomfort
Faster recovery time
Reduced risk for infection & complications
Because the images from the scope
we receive a great view of your pet’s
internal organs. After the procedure
is completed, the surgery site can be
closely monitored for any complications,
such as excess bleeding. This
allows us to deal with any issues immediately.
