If you wish to consider a public K-12 charter school for your

and does not wish to change schools, you do not need to
complete an application. Your child will automatically be
enrolled in the next grade at that school.
Charter Application at a Glance
Charters welcome all students. You can apply from your phone,

1. Visit GoodSchoolsRoc.org to learn about your public
charter school options. Contact schools if you would like to
schedule a visit.
2. Create an account on GoodSchoolsRoc.org using your email
or phone number.
3. Complete the application, including name, address and
current grade enrolled.
4. Select as many schools as you want to apply to.
There is no limit and you are not committing to any
school at this point in the process.
5. Submit your online application using a phone, tablet or
computer.

April 1: Charter school lottery deadline

After April 15: Schools continue to accept applications.

The Lottery
If a charter school receives more applications than it has open
seats available, the school conducts a lottery. Names are drawn at
random through a computer program.
Charter schools do not evaluate students for admission. Students
are not given an advantage or disadvantage because of their
academic standing, GPA or extracurricular activity participation.
There are no tests or fees. There is no preference for students
who apply early. Charters accept students who need extra help in
school, have IEPs and are English language learners.
Students can apply to as many schools as they wish. Submitting
applications to multiple schools does not hinder a student’s
chance for enrollment.
After the lottery has been drawn, students will either be given an
