OVER-PERFORMING MOST COUNTIES IN THE STATE
The COVID-19 case rate per 100,000 population has consistently been lower in Shelby County
than most other counties in the State of Tennessee.
OVER 1,000,000 TESTS CONDUCTED
Testing and isolation help to slow the spread. Shelby County has conducted over one million
tests and has the capacity to administer many more.
OVER 150,000 VACCINATIONS ADMINISTERED
COVID-19 vaccinations help to prevent contracting the disease and developing severe
symptoms. Shelby County has administered over one hundred fifty thousand vaccinations.
OVER $49,000,000 IN AID DISTRIBUTED
With CARES funding, Shelby County Government disbursed over forty-nine million dollars to
provide community relief, to fund COVID-19 response positions, and to ensure safety in public
spaces for the community.
OVER 250 PRESS CONFERENCES
In partnership with the Joint Task Force, the Shelby County Health Department has held over
two hundred fifty press conferences to provide real-time updates and guidance to the public
OVER 98% HAVE RECOVERED OR ARE RECOVERING
More than fifty-four thousand individuals recovered from COVID-19 by self-monitoring, receiving
treatment in a hospital, or with other assistance from the Health Department.
OVER 45,000 CONTACTS IDENTIFIED
Contact tracing efforts help to slow the spread of COVID-19. The Shelby County Health
Department has identified over forty-five thousand contacts.
OVER 40 TESTING LOCATIONS

OVER 1,000,000 MASKS DISTRIBUTED
Shelby County Emergency Management and Homeland Security, the Shelby County Health
Department, and other partnering agencies distributed over 1,000,000 masks and other PPE
equipment across Shelby County.
