The chills are not normal as they feel like ice
inside of your skin, touching your bones. The
aches feel like a hammer hitting your joints 30
times a minute. The gastric issues were awful
as well, but with all of these symptoms, there
was no fever.
My physician wanted to put me in the
hospital to receive intravenous fluids
because of dehydration and extreme fatigue.
My response was an emphatic NO! I then
decided to force myself to take in Gatorade
and other liquids from soups. I did begin to
feel a little better day by day. If this is where
you are today while reading this article, you
have got to push yourself against your
feelings and do what will help you to
heal.
December 5, 2020 is when all of this begin.
Six weeks later, we are so much better thank
God. We still have lingering affects but
we realize that we must keep our heads
up and do our best to stay healthy.
We had some dark and down days, yes we did.
It didn’t matter how long we have been saved
and how many scriptures we knew, how many
songs we’d lead, how many sermons we have
preached, down depressing days did come.
We would hear of friends who were dying
from COVID, we were not able to see our
children or our grands, and just being alone
were a part of our mental anguish. Some
days I would think that if I am this sick with
COVID, I must be leaving for sure. COVID
plays with one’s mind.
Somehow through all the misery and pain,
your Spirit man begins to recall scripture.
He begins to say, “Cast all your anxiety
on Him because He cares for you.” “By
His wounds we are healed.” “Fear not for
I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am
your God. I will strengthen you, yes I will
help you, I will uphold you with my righteous
right hand.” “No weapon that is formed
against you will prosper!”
I admonish you to be extremely careful.
Trust nothing outside of your own abode.
I contracted COVID by lowering my
mask “one time” while using a telephone
that I thought was safe. It wasn’t safe!
One slip up is all it takes to experience this
deadly and dreadful virus. The failure was
not in God, it was in our carelessness. Be
safe, stay prayerful and let us watch God
work and kill this destroyer. He loves us
and will walk with us through the shadow
of death, because He is our Shepherd and
He cares.
Many of us have lost friends and family
to COVID but it doesn’t mean that the
Lord doesn’t care. We don’t understand
why or how some make it and others don’t.
We just have to trust Him.
Do not be ashamed that you contracted
COVID. As I said in the beginning, this
disease is nondiscriminatory and can and
will infect anyone. Know that if you
contract COVID, you are not alone as
millions, young and old, rich and poor,
known and unknown have had it and
recovered or have had it and passed away.
Young people have contracted it and died.
Older people have contracted it and lived.
Whether you continue to live on planet
Earth or live on heaven, if you are in Christ,
you shall live. God is sovereign and believe
me, He is in control. Trust Him when you
can’t trace him. Remember His promises;
“For no matter how many promises God
has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And
so through Him the “Amen” is spoken
by us to the glory of God.”
(2 Corinthians 1:20)
I've had many tears and sorrows. I've
had questions for tomorrow. There's been
times I didn't know right from wrong,
But in every situation, God gave me
blessed consolation. That my trials come
to only make me strong. I thank God for
the mountains, And I thank Him for the
valleys. I thank Him for the storms He
brought me through. For if I'd never
had a problem, I wouldn't know God
could solve them. I'd never know what
faith in God could do.
Through it all, Through it all, I've
learned to trust in Jesus. I've learned
to trust in God. Through it all, Through
it all, I've learned to depend upon
His Word.
