GREATER THINGS
15 YEARS AT A GLANCE
• On October 1, 2006, a core group of 10 families joined Pastor
Gary and his wife Shawn to transform the Zephyrhills YMCA into
New Walk Church’s first worship facility. The young church was
burdened to reach the lost and broken people of this community,
reaching them right where they were, no matter where they had been,
and helping them take the next steps on their spiritual journey.
• In just three years, New Walk Church added two additional
weekend services and grew from a core group of 10 families to a
congregation that averaged over 700 in worship.
• In 2009, the church held its first building campaign called One Degree
where we raised the funds to purchase the land on SR 54 to build
our future permanent facility.
• Sun Stand Still, March 2012, was one of the most faith-building
steps in our church’s history. It was when we dared to ask God for
the impossible. As a church, we sacrificially gave and soon saw our
new church home become a reality.
• In August of 2015, New Walk moved into our 800-seat worship
facility on SR 54 which averaged over 1800 in attendance that first
year.
• Our very first Easter in the new facility, we had to create an overflow
sanctuary to hold an additional 300 adults. Easter 2019, with
7610 in attendance, our building reached max capacity, requiring
us to turn people away.
• In the winter of 2019, we added a fifth service as we welcomed an
average of 3000 people every weekend.
