Long Branch
THE NATION’S
FIRST SEASIDE
RESORT
If you’re looking for great dining, chic
boutiques, ocean beach and hopping
boardwalk, art, music, theater or just
relaxation, Long Branch delivers. Long
Branch is many places in one, a rich tapestry
of cultural currents and cool breezes—from
beloved “mom and pop” storefronts and
old-world ethnic cafés to sophisticated
nightspots and upscale boutiques. Take
an early morning jog or an evening stroll
along the broad boardwalk and you’ll catch
snippets of many languages. Life in Long
Branch is too energetic and too diverse to be
confined to a single “hub.”
There is a lot of activity at the ocean, in
West End along Brighton Avenue and along
Broadway. Seven Presidents Oceanfront Park,
at the north end of the beach, is a sprawling
county park, named to honor the several
United States presidents that vacationed
in Long Branch in the 19th and early 20th
centuries. The park offers a snack bar,
sheltered picnic area, universally accessible
playground, volleyball courts, outdoor
showers and changing areas, guarded
swimming, fishing, surfing and a launch area
for lightweight car-top vessels such as kayaks
and canoes that can be carried to the water.
A skateplex located at the north end of the
park features a 75’ x 150’ rink for inline
skating, hockey and lessons and a skatepark
for both skateboarders and inline skaters with
a bowl and a series of quarter pipes, wedges
and fun boxes. For more information visit
