Florida Adds New
Travel Program
The Clearwater Ice Storm is a newly formed Travel Program (Application for New
Travel Programs submitted to SAHOF for approval) and will be the exclusive travel
program at the Clearwater Ice Arena (CIA). In addition to CIA being the home rink, the
CIA Ice Storm has partnered with Xtra Ice in Tampa to use as an additional Training
facility for the program.
Fred Eaton, who has 27 years of coaching and running Youth Hockey/Travel programs,
along with his board members will oversee this newly established program. The
program is looking to have between 6-9 travel teams this season ranging from Mites to
18AA. Teams will not only be playing in the SFHL, selected teams will also be part of the
EJEPL in the northeast, and the 16AA and 18AA will be joining the NAPHL (Application
Submitted) in the Showcase Division. “Having our teams play in these Elite Northern
Leagues, allows for great exposure for the players and they also get great competition
from outside the state”
Our coaching staff will be one of the finest around. We are working on securing all
coaches and will announce by the end-of-the month. We will also have a goalie
coach(s) to work with all Ice Storm teams.
Tryouts will be in May and we’ll start team practices the 2nd week of August, which will
also include 2 weekends of Training Camps for all teams.
