After 100 years of excellence in healthcare, Hamilton
Medical Center is continuing its legacy through the
establishment of open heart surgical services. “This is
a great bene��t for the residents of ��orth ��eorgia and
surrounding regions,�� said board��certi��ed cardiovascular
surgeon Richard Morrison, MD.
��n the last ��ve years, Hamilton has recruited more than ��0
physicians. The hospital now has more than 300 physicians
on medical staff, representing more than 50 specialties. An
open heart surgery program has allowed the health system
to bring even more specialists to the region, bene��ting our
local economy.

loved ones suffer from chronic diseases, especially heart
disease. Bringing open heart surgery to this region allows
patients to be close to home. Their physicians can better
coordinate their care–physicians who know them, who have
cared for them, and who know their medical histories. This

can minimize the occurrence and impact of complications,
