Sterling Society’s
Patron of the Arts Award
The Sterling Society, which promotes the growth of the Dunedin Fine Art Center, as well as interest and participation in its
activities, held their ninth annual Founders Luncheon at the Dunedin Golf Club. The event honored the late John Hubbard, who
was the group’s 2011 Patron of the Arts Award. Modern master and Florida’s Artist in Residence Christopher Still, who lives and
maintains his studio in Tarpon Springs, was presented with the 2016 Patron of the Arts Award.

the benefit with her husband John,
were co-chairs for the event.
Acclaimed artist Christopher Still, a former
student and teacher at the Dunedin Fine Art
Center, was congratulated by his wife Kelly
on being named 2016 Patron of the Arts.
Mary Louise Pollock, a former president, and
Syd Entel, the current co-president of the
Sterling Society, presented the Arts Award,
a painting by Mary Louise, to Chris.

World Partnerships Dinner
To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the U.S. Department of State’s “Edward R. Murrow Program for Journalists,” the board of
trustees of the Tampa Bay based not-for-profit World Partnerships organization held a benefit dinner at the St. Petersburg Yacht
Club. The event was attended by over 100 journalists from more than 80 countries. World Partnerships is the official U.S. Department
of State “International Visitors’ Leadership Program,” which was founded in 2000 to provide educational, cultural, commercial and
professional exchanges between current and emerging global leaders. Since then, it has hosted over 4,000 international emerging
leaders from more than 160 countries.

attended the celebration dinner.
Gary Springer, president and CEO of World
Partnerships, and Lorna Taylor, president
of the Tampa Bay Business Committee for
the Arts, visited with distinguished guests.
Mary Ellen Upton, the founding executive
director of World Partnerships, thanked
Florida State Representative Kathleen Peters
for attending the group’s dinner.
