39 Once all of the blocks for the tile scene are stitched out and trimmed, you are now ready to sew them together. Start by laying all of the blocks out on a table in order. This allows you to keep the blocks in order and ensure you are attaching the correct blocks together. In larger tile scenes, like the Golden Tapestry, this is a very important step. Take the first two blocks and evaluate the main elements that cross the seam and need to align perfectly, in this case the tree trunk. There will unusually be one or two points that are critical to align perfectly, the background and shading areas are not as important since they will blend together. Carefully place the two blocks right-sides together. Double check in the seam allowance that the elements are aligning along the tack down stitches. You will sew just to the inside of the tack down stitches so that you do not see these stitches in the finished tile scene. Step-By-Step Instructions A B C
