Supporting Events Add Excitement
to Sebring 2018 Schedule
In addition to the 66th running of the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours
of Sebring, several exciting supporting feature events will be
part of the Sebring schedule.
The IMSA Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge enters an
exciting new phase in 2018, with the complete adoption of
GT4 technical regulations for the headlining Grand Sport
(GS) class and the introduction of the new TCR (Touring
Car) class alongside the continuation of the ultra-competitive
Street Tuner (ST) class.
All three classes will compete in a 10-race Continental Tire
SportsCar Challenge schedule that once again takes the
series to iconic road racing venues across North America,
highlighted by their 2-hour race at Sebring the day for the
12-hour classic.
The IMSA Prototype Challenge Presented by Mazda takes
a bold new step in 2018 with the adoption of an
endurance-racing format for a six-race season.
The IMSA Prototype Challenge again will include
both the Le Mans Prototype 3 (LMP3) class for
closed-cockpit race cars from a variety of chassis
constructors – which began competing in the
series this year – along with the Mazda Prototype
Challenge (MPC) class, which features Mazda
engines powering open-cockpit Elan race cars.
The IMSA Prototype Challenge will shift from its
longtime “sprint race” format of two 45-minute
races per event to a single 1-hour, 45-minute
endurance race per weekend for both classes starting
next season.
The Porsche GT3 Cup and HSR Vintage racing will
round out a very exciting Sebring 2018 event.
