paddock and take a nostalgic
stroll through the Sebring Hall of
Fame’s Gallery of Legends. The
Gallery of Legends features a
showroom of cars that have raced
in Sebring over the years.
TEQUILA PATRÓN WINNERS CIRCLE
Fans are invited to celebrate the 2018 Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of
Sebring presented by Advance Auto Parts winners in all classes
at the Tequila Patrón Winners Circle. Located in the Alan Jay
Automotive Network Paddock, next to the Gallery of Legends, drivers
and teams celebrate their race-winning achievements on a raised
platform allowing Sebring’s great fans to also enjoy the celebration.
2018 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES
A.J. FOYT – An American motorsports legend, Foyt won the 12
Hours of Sebring in 1985 driving the Swap Shop Porsche 962.
Foyt had two other Sebring podium finishes: second in 1967 and
third in 1984. Most notable among his many driving achievements
are his four Indy 500 victories, the 1972 Daytona 500 win and two
Rolex 24 At Daytona titles.
RINALDO “DINDO” CAPELLO – A five-time overall Sebring winner,
second all-time behind Tom Kristensen. Scored three additional
podium finishes at Sebring and one class victory. Capello is also a
three-time champion of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
PAUL NEWMAN – Actor, director, philanthropist and racecar driver,
Newman was one of sports car racing’s greatest boosters. As a
driver, he competed at circuits around the world, including Le Mans,
Sebring and Daytona. He finished second overall at Le Mans in 1979
and won the GT class at Daytona in 1995 (at the age of 70).
JOEST RACING – Founded by Reinhold Joest in 1978, the team has
been a sports car racing dynasty. The team has 15 overall Le Mans
wins and 10 overall victories at Sebring. This year Joest returns
to Sebring managing the Mazda program in the IMSA WeatherTech
SportsCar Championship.
THE SEBRING FIREMEN, INC. – A non-profit organization established
in 1927, the group played key role in helping race founder Alec
Ulmann with the manpower necessary to conduct the race in its
formative years. Without this organization, it is unlikely Sebring
would today be recognized as an internationally acclaimed event.
