Hermann says the growing number of
cyber and data breaches is creating job
opportunities for people who are trained
to prevent and address breaches.
“This is a hot ticket area,” says
Hermann, who decided to make it
the subject of the first volume of his
21st Century Legal Careers book series.
“Data Protection Practice: The Brave
New Legal World,” discusses the many
career options currently available to
those with data protection and incident
response expertise.
“I would say the ideal candidate
today is a person who knows both
the technology and the law,” says
Hermann. “If you have both skills, you
can write your own ticket and it’s not
necessary to get an actual law degree.”
He adds that career options include
data protection compliance officer,
cyber policy analyst, law firm privacy
