Did you know that there are several places
named in his honor? Among these being counties
in Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa,
Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire,
Virginia, and, of course, Ohio. There are other
places as well too numerous to mention.
In 1903 the state of Maryland added a
bronze statue of Charles Carroll of Carrollton
to the United States Statuary Hall Collection.
In 1906 Notre Dame University built what
is now known as Carroll Hall, a residents hall.
Carroll County was formed on December
25, 1832. Although Carroll County and
the town of Carrollton derive their names
from Charles Carroll of Carrollton, he was
never a resident of Carroll County Ohio.
