Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility
On May 26th the Hispanic Association on Corporate
Responsibility held its 26th Annual Symposium in Las
Vegas, NV. The Symposium themed The Power of Hispanic
Inclusion™ brought together some of the nation’s most influential
Hispanic corporate leaders, diversity and inclusion specialists,
public officials, and corporate executives to discuss and identify
effective strategies and models for achieving greater inclusion
and participation of Hispanics in the areas of employment,
procurement, philanthropy, and governance.

Adm. Karl Schultz Named 26th
commandant of U.S. Coast Guard
Adm. Karl L. Schultz was named the 26th
commandant of the Coast Guard on Friday,
June 1. “I envision our heading remaining generally
steady,” Admiral Schultz said.
Admiral Schultz had commanded the Coast Guard’s
Atlantic area and last year oversaw the fleet’s
response to Hurricanes Irma, Maria and Harvey.
The service rescued nearly 12,000 people along
the East Coast and in Puerto Rico and the United
States Virgin Islands during the deadly 2017
hurricane season.
Admiral Schultz had also previously served as
director of operations for United States Southern
Command, where he directed joint military operations
in the Caribbean and Central and South America. LS
