he Orlando Ballet’s 2018–19 season at
Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing
Arts features a combination of classic
and new works, live music for several

Artistic Director Robert Hill as well as Artist
in Residence Arcadian Broad. The season
director, and welcomes Shane Jewell, formerly
of the Oklahoma City Ballet, as the

Carmina Burana
October 12–14
extraordinary score will be brought to life by
30 dancers from the Orlando Ballet as well as
60 players and 200-plus singers from the Bach
Festival Society of Winter Park Choir and Orchestra.

The Nutcracker*
December 7–16
dancing confectionary with the iconic Sugar
Plum Fairy. More than 200 Orlando Ballet
School students will participate. All performances
sold out last year, so buy your tickets
early.
Bailamos!
February 15–17, 2019
Ballet de Monterrey, stages an upbeat program
featuring lively music and Latin-inspired
seats during this production, which offers
a colorful fusion of cultures and showcases
powerful, athletic dancing.
Peter & the Wolf Family Weekend*

Arcadian Broad’s Wonderland:
Mad Tales of the Hatter
April 26–28, 2019
Banished from Wonderland, the Mad Hatter
it back in time to save Alice from the Red
by Broad, who also wrote the story and the
music. The Central Florida Community Arts
Orchestra will provide accompaniment.
There are also two special performances: Uncorked
at the Abbey (September 18, January
22, 2019, and March 5, 2019), a casual get-together
for dancers and audiences; and Fast
Forward (March 29, 2019), a performance
company, called OBII, accompanied by the
Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra.
Artist in Residence Arcadian Broad, whose recent
run on Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance was
cut short by professional commitments, is the
choreographer for this season’s Arcadian Broad’s
Wonderland: Mad Tales of the Hatter.
