AdventHealth Expanding Sebring Partnership
AdventHealth is expanding its partnership with Sebring International
Raceway to be the Official Health Care Partner of the circuit and
each of its events. The AdventHealth care team will begin comprehensive,
on-site services at the exclusive Midway medical
center during the 67th Annual Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring
Presented by Advance Auto Parts, March 13-16. As a part of the
multi-year agreement, the hospital will also provide medical care
to fans during the WEC 1000 Miles of Sebring and the Michelin
IMSA Encore races.
“AdventHealth is committed to partnering with our communities
to provide the best care possible, and this is an exciting opportunity
to team up with Sebring International Raceway and bring our
unique brand of inspired, compassionate care to the track,” said
Randy Surber, President and CEO of AdventHealth Sebring. “We
look forward to helping drivers
and fans stay in peak condition
during the race season.”
In addition to providing care
during major race events,
AdventHealth will serve as the official hospital for drivers, fans and
employees during all track activities.
AdventHealth will also expand the partnership with the Sebring
International Raceway to provide motorsports-themed community
events to benefit the AdventHealth Sebring Foundation,
AdventHealth Lake Placid Foundation, AdventHealth Wauchula
Foundation and surrounding communities.
“AdventHealth Sebring and the entire AdventHealth system have
been leaders in our community and throughout Florida for more
than 100 years,” said Wayne Estes, president and general manager
of Sebring International Raceway. “With this new partnership
we will not only be providing our competitors and guests with the
highest level of medical care possible, but we have associated ourselves
with a premier partner
with standards and a mission
that our entire company and
industry embraces.”
The Birthplace of American Endurance Racing
For seven decades, Sebring International Raceway has hosted the
world’s best cars and drivers at an event steeped in history, tradition
and international prestige.
Sebring’s track is truly unique, even by today’s standards. It is an
“Old School” circuit where fans can watch incredibly close to the
action. And teams set up in the middle of the paddock, completely
accessible to all spectators. The festive atmosphere, beautiful
weather and aroma of orange blossoms combine to make Sebring
a true classic.
Nestled among the orange groves and cattle ranches of central
Florida, Sebring International Raceway is adjacent to Sebring
Regional Airport and less than seven miles from beautiful and historic

downtown Sebring.
Originally constructed in 1942 as a WWII B-17 training base
known as Hendricks Field, the facility was first recommended for
use as a racing circuit by Alec Ulmann. He wanted to create an
American endurance classic of the same stature as the famed
French classic.
Ulmann set plans for the first Sebring race to be held on December
31, 1950. The first Sebring race received international coverage
and was rated as a huge success. It would return in March 1952
as a 12- hour race, a tradition that continues today.
The Sebring track is 3.74-miles long and has 17 distinct turns. The
Chateau Elan Hotel and Conference Center overlooks the famous
Hairpin turn. Viewing mounds are located at several locations
around the track to give spectators an elevated view of the action,
while luxury corporate suites overlook the pit area. Several hundred
acres for camping make Sebring International Raceway its own
city every year. See you March 13-16 for “Super Sebring” and yet
another chapter to our incredible history.
