Dalton Convention
Center is home to the
Georgia Athletic Coaches
Association (GACA) Hall
of Fame and features
plaques detailing the
careers of the 101 men
and women who have
been selected as members.
One such man is Coach
Ken Ross who was
inducted into the Hall
of Fame in 2016. During
his 35 year career, he
served 25 years as the
head boys’ basketball
coach at nearby Murray
County High School. In
648 games, Coach Ross
led his teams to 455 wins
and 193 losses. He won
7 region championships,
3 state championships,
and 14 invitational
championships. Coach
Ross received the GACA
distinguished coaching
award once, the GACA
Coach of the Year award
5 times, and in 1997,
the Atlanta Tip-Off Club
honored him as Georgia’s
winningest basketball
coach of the year. Stop
