Hair Restoration
DR. WADE
FOSTER — MD, PhD
Hair Transplant Specialist —
Florida Hair Restoration
According to the American Academy of Dermatology,
approximately 80 million men and
women in the United States suffer from hereditary
hair loss. And even though hereditary
hair loss is incredibly common and genetic
in nature, societal stigmas still exist that associate
balding or thinning with loss of youth
and vitality. With a mission to combat the de-
hair loss can bring, Florida Hair Restoration
in Central Florida is a leader in restoring full,
natural-looking hairlines for men and women
suffering from permanent hair loss. This is no
easy endeavor: hair restoration procedures
demand that surgeons and technicians master
both the technical skill and artistic execution
required for creating seamless new hairlines
for men and women.
Owner and Medical Director of Florida Hair
Restoration, Dr. K. Wade Foster, M.D., PhD.
earned his PhD in Biochemistry at the University
of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine,
and his M.D. degree in 2001, followed
two years later in 2003. Dr. Foster then went
on to complete an internship in Internal Medicine
and a Residency in Dermatology over the
next few years. In 2007 he was accepted for a
special fellowship where he received extensive
training in hair transplantation techniques,
and he delved further into hair restoration
with a fellowship rotation in hair transplant
surgery at Bosley Headquarters in California.
Says Dr. Foster of the experience: “During my
fellowship, I did a rotation at a large hair transplant
practice in Beverly Hills. When done,
there’s a noticeable change, and people are
really pleased with the results. It’s rewarding,
and I’ve wanted to do it for years.” Dr. Foster
to the table in his role as a transplantation
he is knowledgeable in conditions of the hair
and skin beyond a generalized diagnosis of
genetic pattern baldness. Alongside his skilled
medical team at Florida Hair Restoration, Dr.
Foster examines each patient individually to
determine the exact cause of hair loss and the
most effective treatment plan.
There are two widely used hair transplanta-
and Florida Hair Restoration is proud to offer
both throughout Central Florida.
Surgical strip harvesting is a manual method
of hair transplantation in which the surgeon
removes a linear strip of healthy hair from the
back of the head and transfers it to cover thinning
or balding areas on the scalp. This method
is a popular choice for women with long
hair, because the procedure leaves a scar that
can be covered with longer hairstyles.
