solo show on August 11, 2018. She began the show with the
song by the Washington Squares- “New Generation”. What a
great start! She did a fantastic show!
In a typical radio show, Nadia answers the phone and
speaks with listeners, does the play list in two different formats,
handles any on-air ticket giveaways or pledges of money
to the radio station, looks up information about songs in
our play list, runs to the music library for requests, pulls the
music for the show in advance and puts it away afterwards.
She also checks the stats for the show online so that we can see
how we are doing and adjust our plans according to whether
we are gaining or losing listeners. Oh yes, she also posts information
about the show to Instagram and other social media,
and there is always dancing and fun in the studio!
Did I mention that the radio station is primarily run by
volunteers? You can call the station and ask for Miss Julie if
you would like to become involved. There are so many interesting
people, all woven together with a love of music (all
different kinds), news and events that express our diversity.
Nadia is involved in her church youth group, helping
neighbors in need, and doing readings. She performs in a the-
productions. She also does speech and debate.
Her interests are so diverse that she is presently studying
French II, Science Fiction Literature, Honors Calculus &
Physics, Honors Musical Theatre and four college level classes.
This young woman is making Hillsborough (and her family)
very proud. Nadia lives in Lutz with her parents, younger
brother Nathaniel and their two tortoises.
