BRAISED OXTAIL GYOZA AT THE FRANKLIN
CRESCENT CITY SLIDERS AT PROVISIONS
POKÉ BOWL AT UP THE CREEK RAW BAR
sauce, smoked heirloom tomatoes, and grated
parmesan. Traditional japanese gyoza (wonton
dumpling) is reimagined – filled with oxtail
and braised in Oyster City Brewing Company’s
Hooter Brown Tupelo Honey Ale, then topped
with a 7-spice plum reduction. The rest of the
menu is full of similar surprises, and the dining
experience at The Franklin may be the most
memorable in Old Florida. Experience it
for yourself at The Franklin at the Gibson Inn /
51 Ave C / Apalachicola / 850-653-1159.
It’s difficult to remember a time when downtown
Port St. Joe’s PROVISIONS wasn’t the dining
destination it is today. Believe it or not, Chef and
owner Antonio Perez started small – essentially
a walk-up sandwich shop with a little catering
on the side. Things have certainly changed since
then! Today, Provisions is one of the most
popular and best reviewed eateries on Florida’s
Forgotten Coast, and a pair of tasty new menu
items are attracting even more attention.
The Mahi-Mahi tacos became one of Provisions
best sellers, oh, about an hour after they were
introduced! Generous cuts of Mahi-Mahi are
blackened and served on corn tortillas with
citrus cole slaw and chipotle aioli. Refreshing in
their simplicity, these tacos are a scrumptious

taste of the coast. The new Crescent City Sliders
are one-of-a-kind in the region. Available only
on Provisions’ Tapas Menu during Happy Hour
(3-6pm daily), these New Orleans-inspired treats
feature spicy prosciutto, muffuletta, vegetables
and tangy swiss cheese on a yeasty french roll.
Find them both at Provisions / 222 Reid Ave /
Port St Joe / 229-9200.
Spectacular views overlooking
the river and bay await hungry
customers at UP THE CREEK
RAW BAR in Apalachicola, but
make no mistake, they come for
the food! Up The Creek is not
your typical Old Florida raw bar,
with offerings including dolmas
(stuffed grape leaves), the sushiinspired
poké bowl, and chilled
