Maya Vitale, too, hides the scars of a
wounded past. Together, the three discover
that drinking yesterday’s poison can still
destroy them.
All her novels, whether intense or purely
comical, contain McClain’s trademark
humor. They also point toward the power
of redemption.
McClain resides in Jacksboro with her
husband. As a transplant from the frozen
reaches of northern New York, McClain has
relished the warmth of Southern friendship,
kindness and hospitality.
Acting President of ACFW Knoxville
and secretary of The Author’s Guild of
Tennessee, McClain also serves on the
mayor’s committee to combat opioid
addiction. Additionally, she teaches
incarcerated men how to change their
thinking patterns and helps them maintain
jobs on work release so once their sentence
ends, they can have successful, drug-free
lives. In her free time, she’s a glass artist.

cClain’s latest novel, Yesterday’s
Poison, now available, deals
with the healing that comes
from forgiveness. No matter how big or small,
forgiveness heals the person’s wounds.
Yesterday’s Poison depicts three incongruous
friends whose lives intersect when Torie
Sullivan, while in a drunken rage, totals her
car. Paramedic Adam Benedict saves her, but
he discovers she’s the high school bully who
tormented him and nearly ruined his life.
When Benedict finds out Torie is homeless,
he gets his girlfriend to take her in.
