native of Covington, Ky., she’s proudly called Sarasota
home for 25 years.
As the founder of the area’s annual Harvey
Fabulous Independent Film Festival (IFF), Fortner is
well-versed in all things Sarasota. She understands
needs of its growing LGBTQ community.
