Developers Chas Bruck and Adam Harden of
SoHo Capital envisioned a modernized
neighborhood retreat for Tampa’s Waterfront
community and a national destination aimed to
attract visitors from near and far. Over time, each
piece of the of the 50-acre riverfront property was
acquired with plans to create The Heights
District, Tampa’s newest urban community.
When completed, The Heights District will
become a true live, work, play community
connecting diverse people from around the
surrounding area. The Heights District will include
hotels, apartments, condos, office buildings,
restaurants, retail stores, green spaces, parking
garages, a grocery store and more.
Nestled within The Heights District, lies the
award-winning Armature Works. The epicenter
for the district, Armature Works is a 73,000-
square foot historic warehouse and storage
facilityreimagined as the signature food and
entertainment destination in the Tampa Bay area.
Once known as the TECO Streetcar
Warehouse(Tampa Electric Company), the
Armature Works structure played a significant
role for the City of Tampa as the repair and
storage facility for the Tampa Electric Street and
Railway Company (formally known as the
Streetcar Barn). The barn was an integral part of
Tampa’s development in connecting the
surrounding neighborhoods.
