2 to 3 Weeks Out
• If not using a caterer, plan your own menu for the
party.
• Try out any recipes you’re unfamiliar with so you aren’t
lost the day of.
• If you are hosting a party with games, this is also an
ideal time to make sure you have all the pieces. If
you are missing items, you will have time to get them
ordered or find a store that carries replacements.
1 Week Ahead
• Check-in with people who haven’t RSVPed yet. Your
caterer will need a final head count.
• Set a party agenda. What time will the entertainment

start, when will the food be served, where should
people be and when?
• Finalize a seating chart.
2 to 3 Days Ahead
• Purchase groceries or any pre-prepared food you plan
to serve if not using a caterer.
• Bake any cookies or treats that can be made ahead.
• Begin cleaning or, if you use a cleaning service, let
them know you would like them to do a deep cleaning
during this time.
• Double-check your supplies—you don’t want to have
to run out the morning of the party for more plates or
forgotten cutlery.
