Listed on the National Register of Historic Place, this
historic business district, once destroyed by a fire in 1889,
has been restored to a charming Victorian downtown,
housing more than two dozen locally-owned antique
and specialty shops and eateries. Most of the two-story
Italianate and late Victorian buildings were built in the
1800s and early 1900s.
Huntingburg League Stadium

Built in 1894 and renovated in the early 1990s, this
historical stadium served as home field for the Rockford
Peaches in the filming of the hit motion picture,
“A League of Their Own,” featuring Tom Hanks and
Madonna. Original advertisements from the
film still remain along the outfield fence.
The stadium also starred in the HBO
movie, “Soul of the Game,” and is home
to the Dubois County Bombers
collegiate baseball team, which
entertains hundreds of fans June

Huntingburg Old Town Hall
& Market Street Park

The Old Town Hall is an 1887 Italianate structure featuring
authentic Victorian lighting, elongated windows, 14-inch
brick walls, and the original tin ceiling. Listed on the
National Register of Historic Places, this building once
served as a fire station and jail, and later as the focal point
for the town’s events through the 1930s. After several
decades, the building was renovated and is in full use
today for special events. The Market Street Park has an
amphitheater and connects Old Town Hall to Historic
4th Street creating the perfect venue for concerts,
festivals, and other popular events.
