Located midway between Tampa and Fort Myers, North
Port is easily accessible by either I-75 or U.S. 41. I-75 Exits
182 (Sumter Boulevard) and 179 (Toledo Blade Boulevard)
are both within City Limits.
Four nearby international airports provide air
service: Charlotte County Airport, Sarasota/ Bradenton
International Airport, Southwest Florida International
Airport (Ft. Myers), and Tampa International Airport.

Local public bus service is available by the SCAT system
(Sarasota County Area Transit). For more information,
including fares, schedules, and routes, please call 941-861-
5000 or visit www.scgov.net; City Hall (4790 City Hall
Boulevard), the North Port Library (13800 Tamiami Trail)
and Shannon Staub Library (4675 Career Lane) also keep
bus schedules and routes on hand.
Electric power is provided by Florida Power and Light (FPL)
and they can be reached at 1-800-375-2434. Gas service is available
in parts of the city through pipeline by Horizon Gas (800-747-
8303) or TECO (877-832- 6747). You can contact North Port
Utilities (which oversees city water and sewer) at 941-240-8000,
and the City’s Solid Waste District (which oversees trash collection,
yard waste collection, bulk trash pick-ups, and recycling) can be
contacted at 941-240-8050.
