Conyers Police epartment CP and Rockdale County
Fire Rescue RCFR personnel had the opportunity to
aend the Advanced a Enforcement Rapid Response
raining AERR train the trainer instruconal course over
the summer of 201. hese personnel, Conyers Police Sergeant
ravis Smith and Sergeant Bill Connell, as ell as Erin Connell,
Relief river for Rockdale County Rescue, ill be instrucng
approimately 60 rst responder students in the coming months
in a massive joint training eort.

communicaons operators from Rockdales Emergency
peraons Center EC all ill aend one of several upcoming
telvehour training sessions. he epartment of Jusce J
and the Federal Bureau of nvesgaon FB have deemed
AERR to be the naonal standard in Acve Shooter Response
training. Subseuently, AERR also has been adopted as the
standard for the State of eorgia.
AERR training ill consist of four hours of classroom
instrucon, folloed by eight full hours of praccal eercises,
here rst responders are faced ith reallife scenarios. rant
funds by J ill supply simulaon rearms, ammunion, radios,
protecve vests, and other euipment to provide the most
realisc eperience possible in a dynamic learning environment.
his training ill take place at Rockdale Career Academy hile
students and faculty are on various breaks in the coming months.
AERR instrucon has taken place throughout the United States
but doubully ith the eceponal instructors the Conyers
Rockdale team are about to provide. As menoned above, CP
Sgt. Connell and Rockdale Fire Relief river Erin Connell are in
fact a fatherdaughter duo ho ere able to aend the train
thetrainer instrucon in 201 and no have the opportunity to
share their knoledge ith their peers in Conyers and Rockdale
County.
