Garden Club of Fair Haven
Plants at Three Habitat for
Humanity Homes
The Garden Club of Fair Haven recently gave back to the community by
partnering with Habitat for Humanity, an organization that provides
housing for families in need.
When Habitat for Humanity reached out to the community for donations
of time, materials and skills, the Garden Club of Fair Haven agreed to
landscape three newly built or refurbished homes in Monmouth County.

was complete, a group of members — with help from a landscaper, volunteers
from Habitat and Rumson-Fair Haven Regional High School students
— cleared the lot, cut the gardens and planted the trees, shrubs and bulbs.
They also added an arbor and fencing.
The garden club completed landscaping for three homes over the last
two years. The project was brought to beautiful fruition for a family in need
under the leadership of club President Beth Ruda; her design committee of
committee of Kathryn Rose Storti, Paula Thorogood and Gume Monticito.

came from personal monetary donations and plants dug from members
