SIZING SUMMARY
Giving horses too much room in a stall can get horses into
trouble. If a straight load stall is too long, a horse can rear
up. If it is too wide, they could fall under the divider. Owners
of larger horses often believe that they have to add extra
width when adding extra length and height to a straight
load. Horses from 16.3 hands up to 18 hands, unless very
bulky, will require 11’ foot stalls and 7’8” height, but not
necessarily extra width. If the sidewall and center divider
are not squeezing them, they effectively use both to help
balance. Use the extra width option for horses approaching

18 hands and over.
Note that a 102” wide trailer can be a problem driving on
narrow roads or driveways. Unless needed, stay with the
96” standard width straight loads.
