USPHL Expands in Florida
The United States Premier Hockey League will be adding another Junior
organization in the Florida division for the up coming 2019-20 season. The
Tropics will be joining the Tampa Bay Junior’s, Florida Eels, DME Swamp Rabbits
and the Florida Everblades.
The newly formed Florida Tropics will be playing out of The Skate Zone in Lake
Worth. The Florida Tropics will have 2 teams, Elite and Premier. Try- outs are
scheduled for April and exact dates to be released soon.
The ownership team is excited to join the league, their first order of business will
be to hire a top notch coaching staff. Coaching candidates are being interviewed
now. They plan to be announcing their new head coach shortly.
The USPHL continues to grow, with another team already announced last
month. The Charleston Colonials will also be starting play next season as part
of the Southeast Division. The Colonials will be playing out of the Ice Palace in
Charleston. The USPHL remains the largest youth hockey league in the
country. The league has teams from mites to the Junior levels.
The 2019-20 season is already shaping up to very exciting, who knows what the
off season will bring.
