It’s festival season!
New Orleans is known for many of their vivacious
festivals. Don’t know which ones to go to?
Check out these upcoming fests!
Top Taco Fest
When: Thursday, May 16
Where: Woldenberg Riverfront Park
Unlimited tacos and tequila with purchase of an
admission ticket.
Bayou Boogaloo
When: Friday, May 17-Sunday, May 19
Where: Bayou St. John in Mid-City
Enjoy free admission, live music, and local vendors while
canoeing on the bayou. It’s a great party vibe, mixed with
arts and crafts and a lot of sun tanning.
Greek Fest
When: Thursday, May 23-Sunday, May 26
Where: Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral,
1200 Robert E. Lee Blvd. at Bayou St. John
Opa! With a purchase of an admission ticket, you can
enjoy Greek cuisine and tons of Greek wines to sample.
This fest is full of feasting, dancing and family fun!
Treme 7th Ward Art and Culture Festival
When: Saturday, May 25-Sunday, May 26
Where: under the North Claiborne Avenue bridges
This festival has live brass band performances and
many food vendors from the nearby areas. It is free and
celebrates the beauty and historical value of the Treme
and the 7th Ward neighborhoods
Oyster Festival
When: Saturday, June 1-Sunday, June 2
Where: Woldenberg Riverfront Park
Free admission. A varied selection of the best seafood
restaurants and local vendors, along with live music.
French Market Creole Tomato Festival
When: Saturday, June 8–Sunday, June 9
Where: French Market
This festival highlights local farmers and their production
of the Creole tomato. There is a tomato-eating contest
along with cooking demonstrations. Also, many food
vendors will be selling different cuisines made with the
Creole tomato.
NOLA Caribbean Festival
When: Thursday, June 20-Sunday, June 23
Where: Central City BBQ, 1201 South Rampart St.
A Caribbean celebration with live music, parades and
salsa dancing. Also, a four-day weekend filled with local
vendors and Caribbean cocktails. Requires purchase of
an admission ticket.
Cajun- Zydeco Festival
When: Saturday, June 22-Sunday, June 23
Where: Louis Armstrong Park
Free admission. Top Cajun and Zydeco musician
performances, along with seafood vendors and
arts and crafts.
