Dr. Patrick Dermarkarian ’02
is an orthopedic surgeon who
sub-specializes in spine surgery
at Coastal Orthopedics in Bradenton.
Dr. Dermarkarian earned
his medical degree from Tufts
University, completed his residency
at the Florida Orthopaedic
Institute through the University of
South Florida, and completed his
spine fellowship at the University
of California San Francisco.
Dr. Kevin Almerico ’03 is completing
a fellowship in Critical Care/
Pulmonary at Beaumont Hospital
in Royal Oak, Mich., working in ICU
during the coronavirus pandemic.
Dr. Almerico earned undergraduate
and graduate degrees from the
University of South Florida, attended
medical school at St. Matthews
University, and completed his
residency at Florida Atlantic
University.

Sylvester Kwo '15 graduated from
the University of Florida with
degrees in mechanical engineering
and aerospace engineering, and a
minor in computer science, and he
spoke at the College of Engineering’s
virtual graduation ceremony.
