I told the woman that I was Catholic
and she said, “I don’t care about that.”
I have a 10-year sentence and won’t be
out of here until 2024. I sit in my cell
and look out of the window and say to
Mary, “Thank you for blessing me
and my family.” I would like to get a
Catholic Bible if you will help me with
that. I am from Houston, and my mom
and dad are sick. Mom has cancer and
dad has a brain tumor. I never asked
for help before, but I am asking now
for your help to keep my mind on the
Mother of my Lord. I hope you will
write back. God bless you! < Inmate >
I am an inmate in the Tennessee
Dept. of Correction, more importantly
I am a Catholic, one who prays daily
the Holy Rosary and who is also your
member in the Living Rosary. I was
transferred to this facility in April
2017 and, since my arrival, I have had
no opportunity to speak with a priest,
much less the opportunity to receive
the Sacraments. I have taken it upon
myself to plant the seed of a Catholic
Ministry here at SCCF. My aim is to
incite our fellow Catholics to action.
The Seed is one of Faith, Hope and
Love. The ground, though parched, is
fertile. Our need is great. We need
both Spanish and English materials. I
have secured a time and place from
the chaplain for a Catholic Service,
primarily for praying the Rosary
together. I am a convert to Catholicism
(3 years). I am yet to be Confirmed. I
hope to be consecrated to Our Holy
Mother and to wear the Brown Scapular.
Any help you are able to give us will
be a great service to us, but more
importantly, to God and His Holy
Church. Please remember us in your
prayers. Yours in Christ, < James >
I have been transferred to a new place
and it seems that many of my personal
belongings were lost or stolen. Would
you please send me a Rosary and my
Decade again, leaflets, prayer cards and
booklets. My vision is poor and I am
an indigent inmate and make only $5
a month. I am getting out in September.
I have no place to go. I have no parole
plan. My family is all dead and those I
once called friends, don’t want anything
to do with me now that I am a child of
God and have changed my life. They
are still into drugs and I need to begin
my life where I am not influenced by
them. It makes me nervous and scared
as I have been in prison for 11 years
now. Help! The ULRA has truly been a
blessing and friend to me. < Justin >
Thanks be to God for sending me the
reading material and Decade card, and
for your prayers. I have requested a
Rosary but our property department
is new and it was denied. Never have I
been able to receive the Scapular. I still
pray on my fingers. It is like Satan sits
at the chapel door waiting to attack the
Christians. Heat is turned on at the
time of our services when it is already
sweltering outside. Lesbian guards are
acting out. Satan is alive and well here.
It is always just a pure relief to receive
anything from the Living Rosary. I don’t
know how my kidney tumor is but I
do know God has a plan for me and to
suffer is an honor as He suffered so much
for me. God knows the truth. Jesus is
with me. I just never dreamed at 63, I
would be in prison for something I did
not do or even know about. There is
no evidence, witness or motive! God
bless you all! < Rhonda >
RAY for us, O Holy Mother of
God, that we may be made
worthy of the promises of Christ!
