Holland Berkley
Holland Berkley's goal when creating her art is to convey a sense of mystery and
awe. To describe her art, is in itself a challenge. Her human forms, abstract rather
than literal are placed in an environment of graphic symbols and universal patterns
derived from studies of primitive cultures. "While the final translation of the
image is left for the viewer to decide, it is my sincere hope that the spiritual
quality of describing the human heart shines through".
Having received her B.F.A. from the University of Southern Mississippi in painting
and Art Education, Holland went on to teach art in the public schools, before
pursuing her career as a full time artist. Over the years she has received numerous
awards and exhibited in galleries and museums across the country. In addition, her
work can be found in numerous public and private collections, including the
Disney Corporation, Exxon Corporation, Universal Studios and Federal Express.
