The homeowner wanted a family room and
a living room. Both have comfortable couches
and chairs in neutral tones with floor to ceiling
windows that frame the beautiful backyard
and pool area. The living room boasts vaulted
ceilings, a beautiful limestone mantelpiece and
black steel chandeliers.
The entrance to their master suite is close to
all the first-floor action but can easily be hidden
by pocket doors, offering complete privacy from
the rest of the house. They intentionally chose
the first floor because they are looking ahead at
growing old here. The suite looks out over the
beautifully landscaped yard with the pool and its
outbuildings. The “cottage apartment” built above
the garage is built with their later years in mind
too. If they need live-in assistance, the apartment
will provide privacy and independence.
The basement is used as often as the upstairs
space with a fully-outfitted gym, wine room,
and a stocked bar with Cape Cod Beer on
tap. Tucked away at one end of the basement
is a room with multiple built-in bunk beds,
anticipating a growing extended family.
While Gary and Tim have provided plenty
of reasons to be indoors, this is the Cape so
the outside beckons. The lot is pan shaped,
