FINE ART EXHIBIT
Fine art collectors and afi cionados Dr. Jay and Ann McKeel Ross
display select pieces of their personal collection in Morsani Hall
as a gift to the community, creating a public exhibit of some of the
greatest visual art in the world. Visit the Morsani mezzanine to view
and enjoy this season’s gallery.
ART ON THE WALK
The Straz Center’s successful al fresco gallery engages people in
the creative process while highlighting the extraordinary talents of
local and international visual artists. Visit our riverside, revolving
gallery, Art on the Walk, an ongoing community art project
permanently exhibited near the Morsani patio.
FIN HARP
Inspired by certain lovable and highly-intelligent marine mammals,
Luke Rothschild, one of the members of the multi-genre
performance group String Theory, designed this working dolphinfi
n harp specifi cally as an outdoor art-music installation for the
Straz Center.
THE CUBE
The Cube, located in the Jaeb Courtyard, exhibits street art
styles from local artists. Installed in 2016 by Tampa-based
community art design fi rm The Urban Conga, The Cube uses
four giant walls to create a canvas for cartoonists, illustrators,
graphic artists, muralists and graffi ti artists. Curated by local graffi ti
artist Eric Hornsby, The Cube art changes throughout the season,
so make sure you check it out each time you visit The Straz.
WHY SIT WHEN YOU CAN PLAY?

Another Straz Center commission for The Urban Conga, Why Sit
When You Can Play? is an 18-foot marimba sculpture bench on the
riverfront near Art on the Walk. Take a whack, make some noise.
NATIONAL SCULPTURE SOCIETY AND THE STRAZ CENTER
PRESENT
PERFORMANCE IN SCULPTURE
In partnership with the New York-based National Sculpture Society,
the pre-eminent organization for contemporary fi gurative sculptors,
the Straz Center presents a multi-piece art exhibit as part of the
programming season.
Thirteen pieces are displayed in the Ruth Silbiger Lobby of Carol
Morsani Hall. All works of art are available for purchase. A portion
of the acquisition price will go to support the mission of the
Straz Center.
