CrossFit is the world's fastest growing fitness regimen with over 13,000
affiliates worldwide. The popular fitness program's unprecedented growth
is largely due to a few key components.
First of all, it’s just plain fun! It’s not
uncommon to hear that going to the
gym is the best hour of a person’s day.
Once the music starts pumping and
the workout is underway, you’re free to
let loose, turn your brain off and just
exercise…and the euphoric state upon
finishing keeps people coming back.
The community aspect of what we
do is equally as incredible. Humans
by nature thrive in groups. In this
age of technology, people are more
connected than ever…but somehow
disconnected as well. The CrossFit
gym often becomes a second home to
many. CrossFit Westchase gyms have
dozens of couples, family members,
kids and more within our facilities.
The beautiful thing about CrossFit
is that it is infinitely scalable to
one’s abilities. The 20-year-old can
workout next to his grandmother,
and everybody in between. Classes
often have a 40+ year age range.
Many friendships are forged through
the shared triumphs and hard work
in the CrossFit gym. Few things
are as rewarding as being a part of
something bigger than oneself.
The effectiveness of the program
is equally as important. CrossFit’s
founder, Greg Glassman, took the
best functional components of a wide
range of athletic endeavors— running,
weightlifting, gymnastics and more—
and combined them into a singular
program for the masses. We train for
functional movement within our gyms;
the way you look and feel is merely a
byproduct of everything else.
Sadly, the U.S. as a whole is becoming
more sedentary, and poor overall
health is widely accepted as the
norm. Our goal is to reverse that.
Our goal is to keep the 75-year-old
woman out of the nursing home,
to prevent certain diseases through
exercise and nutrition, and to forge a
healthier community. Many CrossFit
participants have lost 50–100 lbs or
more; some no longer need to take
their blood pressure medicine. Even
pre-diabetics and diabetics have
been able to reverse their conditions
and regain their health and wellness
through CrossFit.
We each have the choice to become
the best and healthiest versions of
ourselves. Whether that is through
CrossFit or some other means, we
encourage everyone to take charge
and accountability of themselves. Your
family will thank you.
