Metro Atlanta Fire
Departments Honored at
2018 Silent Hero Awards
On Saturday September 8, 2018,
The Ronnie Thames Foundation
recognized and honored
at the 2018 Silent Hero Awards. The
event was sponsored in part by Atlanta
businesses FireAde, FirstNet and
companies such as Municipal Equipment
Company, Safe Industries, and NAFECO.
The evening kicked off with a reception
and dinner at the Georgia Aquarium
Oceans Ballroom.
The Silent Hero Awards recognize
Atlanta communities through their
commitment and dedication. Started in
represented, this year’s awards honored
more than 25 departments and is now
in the southeast. Guests included
representatives from the Fire Department
of New York (FDNY), the City of
Chicago Fire Department, the Boston Fire
Department and the Jacksonville, Florida
Fire Department. It was a privilege to
tremendous contributions toward a safer
and better educated community.

may nominate individuals in one of

Nominations are considered by members
of the local Atlanta community and
winners are revealed at the annual award
dinner and ceremony. Silent Hero Award
winners are further honored with the
Silent Hero Flight to New York City for a
tour of the 9/11 museum and a visit with
the FDNY. Sponsorship opportunities
exist for businesses and partners who
have a desire to give back to the local
community and recognize the brave men
businesses, lives, homes and property.
