SEATING SOLUTIONS
The great room is divided into two areas via a
comfortable circular sofa from Vanguard. The
sofa was chosen because of the scale of the
room. “It’s a large, open space so if we had used
a traditional straight sofa or sectional, it would
have created a gap that would have felt like
an unfinished hole,” says Walter. The elegant
curves of the sofa also soften the space while
providing enough seating for the gathering area.
The floating backlit panel across from the sofa
was a clever way to create a memorable design
element and break up the large TV wall. A curved
bookcase by Vanguard perfectly complements
the space. The beautiful window treatments with
woven and gossamer textures tie the different
great room zones together.
CHIT CHAT
“We call the secondary seating zone the
‘chat area’,” says Hall. Elegant armchairs
from Vanguard sport a traditional shape
and are given a contemporary twist
with the vibrant citrus orange fabric.
Accompanying the chairs are sleek,
stone-topped tables, and hide rug. The
oil-rubbed bronze tables with travertine
tops are from Michael Weiss. This
seating area is the first thing seen when
entering the home so the color and
arrangement was selected to create the
maximum visual impact. Throughout the
home, French oak floors in a truffle color
adds a warm and comfortable feel.
