Welcome to the Beautiful
Alabama Gulf Coast
White Sand, Emerald Green Water
and the Friendliest People in the World.
Welcome to the Alabama Gulf Coast!
Sometimes affectionately referred
to as the “Redneck Riviera”, the 32
miles of sugar-white soft sand and
clear water is more often called
“Pleasure Island”, or even “Paradise”!
Locals simply refer to the entire area
stretching from Gulf Shores to Orange
Beach as “The Gulf”.
No matter what term is used to
describe the area, the appeal is the
same – beautiful, pristine beaches,
championship golf and water sports,
of top-notch seafood restaurants. Zip
lines, mini golf courses, water parks
and more are within easy reach for
family-oriented fun.
Visitors are often surprised at the
friendly reception offered by the local
residents, making the area a haven for
travelers looking to “get away from it
all” to the beach for family vacations
and weekend getaways.
Located in Baldwin County – one of
the fastest-growing counties in the
state - Gulf Shores alone saw it’s fulltime
population nearly double to 9,741
residents (2010 census), up from 5,044
at the 2000 census. During the peak
Summer months, the population swells
to more than twice that size.
Whether you are in town for a quick
break from “the grind” or spending
several days – or even weeks – along
the Gulf Coast, welcome to Paradise!
