Laissez Les Les Bon Bon Temps Temps Rouler!
Rouler!
“Mais dats good yeah” is a phrase that
is belted all across Southern Louisiana
on a daily basis, which is the native
meal”. Cory Trahan decided he wanted
to hear that phrase, but on the beach,
so he followed his childhood dream
of opening up “The Crazy Cajun”
in November of 2017. Since then,
Yankee, Cajun, or local, have enjoyed
themselves at his eatery located in
Gulf Shores, AL.
Cory was born and raised in Carencro,
LA, which is located a short drive
north from Lafayette, LA along
Interstate 49, in the heart of Cajun
Country, where good times are always
rolling, and big smiles are easy to
come by. His family, like many other
Louisiana families, have vacationed
along the Gulf Coast every summer,
and he was hooked at an early age
with the scenes and sounds from
Gulf Shores. He learned to cook at a
young age from the loving guidance of
his grandmothers Martha Trahan and
Anna Begnaud, and he felt like it was
a calling of sorts to bring it to others.
After graduating from the University of
Louisiana-Lafayette with a marketing
degree, he entered the world of sales.
He and his wife, Ava Scallan,
relocated to Mobile, AL in 2016, and
after purchasing a condo in Gulf
Shores soon thereafter, decided it was
time to take a leap of faith and bring his
dreams of creating a cajun restaurant
to life! Cory takes a great deal of pride
in the quality of his cajun cuisine, and
are always of utmost quality.
The preparation process begins at
6am, where all dishes are prepared
from scratch. The collard greens,
brussel sprouts, and chicken salad tots
are local favorites, and you can taste
the love in each bite.
He hopes that the company culture at
The Crazy Cajun along with the near
perfect service and unique and quality
dishes will soon be a staple of Gulf
Shores, and judging by the crazed
following, that status is near complete!
Cory loves the phrase “Laissez Les
Bon Temps Rouler” (Let the good
times roll), as it is an ethos espoused
by his ancestry and those from his
original home, Cajun Country.
Stop on in at The Crazy Cajun and
check out just how good the times will
be at the local eatery.
