side of the business, but I must admit I had a hard time giving
up taking care of patients,” he explains. “I really enjoyed working
with patients and improving their care.”
However, as CEO, DiLallo now has an opportunity to direct the
care of patients at a much higher level. “Making an impact on
patient care and employee lives is what really excites me about
my job,” he emphasizes.
He says the most rewarding aspect of his role is witnessing the
improvement in patient care and making an impact on people’s
lives. “Every day, you have the opportunity to affect someone in
a positive way—it may be an employee, a patient, a volunteer,
or someone in the community,” he explains. “You never know
when the next opportunity may arise.”
Outside of work, DiLallo focuses on his family. “I’m most proud
of my family, my wife Jo-Ann of over 35 years and my three
sons,” he says.
DiLallo’s three sons are all grown and thriving in successful
careers. Two of his sons are physicians, one in West Palm
Beach and the other in San Francisco. DiLallo’s youngest son
pursued a career in sports management, which has given him the
opportunity to travel and see the world. “He currently works with
the Louisville City Soccer Club as their Director of Operations,”
DiLallo adds.
Of course, DiLallo also enjoys spending time with his “work
family” at Manatee Memorial Hospital. “If you’re having a bad
day, the people at Manatee Memorial will cheer you up,” he says.
“That’s why I believe in the future of our hospital: We have such
great people, with such a sound base of excellent employees
and physicians, that we can plan the future of improved patient
care. There is nothing they can’t accomplish.”
